Turn One Page into Two: Creative Memories Autumn Harvest Scrapbook Layouts

two‑page autumn harvest scrapbook layout with inked edges and title cluster

Using the Creative Memories Autumn Harvest collection and the Project Playbook, I share how to create five two‑page layouts (converting some of the one page designs in the playbook) with room for lots of photos. We add soft inked edges for dimension and CSJ exclusives for sparkle.

Add some layering shapes, a custom cut title and pumpkins and some ink splatter sentiments to make this all come together!

Why Double Page Spreads?

If you love the structure of the Project Playbook but need more photo real estate, this approach is going to be your new best friend. You’ll finish with five two-page layouts that celebrate the season, showcase your photos, and sparkle with those special little details.

The shine of the foiled copper title, a fall sentiment and a sweet bow add the needed touches for this layout.

What You'll Need

Here are the tools and supplies I used (or recommend) to get started:

  • Creative Memories Autumn Harvest papers, stickers & embellishments

  • Project Playbook (base recipes)

  • 12" trimmer • tape runner • repositionable adhesive

  • Optional: border punch (browse punches) • journal pen

  • Neutral ink (brown/sepia/charcoal) + blending tool/dauber

  • CSJ exclusives (titles, tabs, accents)

  • Scissors, foam squares, or foam tape: For layering and dimension.

Grab those inks to add dimension to the wood ivy die cuts and pair it perfectly with the brown shimmer leaves from my shop

How to turn a one‑page recipe into a two‑page layout

  1. Mirror the base. Duplicate the core block for page two (flip/rotate to make the pages “talk”).

  2. Extend a band. Continue any stripe/border across the gutter to unify the spread.

  3. Clone the cluster. Repeat the main embellishment cluster on page two at ~80% scale so page one remains the focal point.

  4. Add a photo column. Use leftover patterned strips to frame extra 3×4 photos and journaling.

  5. Ink for dimension. Lightly ink the edges of mats and embellishments—soft halos add warmth without bulk.

  6. Balance white space. Match margins and visual weight so the spread reads as one cohesive design.

You can use your ink or dot tip pen to edge your stickers too! Make the FALL title pop with this touch of dimension. Don’t forget to ink the edges of your paper strips too!

TIP: Punch some wagons out of your brown photo mats before you add your photos on top.

Photo planning that works

  • Remember your photos are the star of your pages! Make sure to let those photos shine and use peekaboo pockets when you need to add more photos or journaling.

  • Reserve a journaling spot so you can tell your story.

  • Keep the title cluster near your focal photo to draw attention to what is improtant on your page.

Make it shine with CSJ exclusives

Repeat a small shiny detail three times to create a visual triangle that guides the eye. Titles + tabs + tiny accents = polished, not busy.

I cut down the photo mat to make it fit in a 4×6 peekaboo creating more room for photos and journaling. Add a coordinating tab punch and my direction sentiments to show even more fun on your layout.

Don’t you just love those little copper accents?
