How to Scrapbook Simply and Beautifully - Part 2 / Getting Started

YAY! You are here reading this post! Congrats on taking the next step toward simple and beautiful albums. So how do you get started? Lets focus first on these three things you need to do:

1) Get your prints in your hands

Well, it’s kinda hard to scrapbook unless you have your pictures, so that is your first priority!

Get those photos off your phone, off your computer, or out of the cloud and in front of you. Great things can happen when you have photos you can touch and feel and reminisce with!

The choices are endless as to the best places to print, so choose one and get it done! Remember to edit and enhance your photos before you upload, which usually just takes a few button clicks, you will be glad you did! There are a number of ways to begin when printing your photos, so choose what feels right for you. You can start with the beginning of the year, and print 3-6 months at a time (depending on how many photos you take) or you can start with an event, trip, category or special occasion. Sometimes this is easier, because there is a beginning and an end. A good rule of thumb is to print 8-10 photos for each 2-page spread.

2) Organize your photos

The next step is to organize your photos into page spreads for your album. A great way to do this is to use the photo folders I designed, and you can learn how to use them in this video or DIY with this download. The best part is you only have to do this ONCE, and it is so easy to find your photos once they are organized.

When you are ready to scrapbook, just grab a mini folder and you will have the photos for your pages organized and at your fingertips!

3. Gather your supplies & get busy

Time is precious, so when you make time to create your album pages, you want everything ready to go, including your tools. Keep your essential supplies, including your trimmers, tools, pens, adhesive, album, pages, and decorative supplies organized for easy access.
